About The Position

The Clinical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. This role assists with patient intake, clinical procedures, patient education, documentation, and coordination of care while maintaining compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required, or equivalent healthcare training and experience preferred.
  • 1 year of healthcare or clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and patient engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care practices.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and standard computer applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, maintain professionalism and confidentiality, and follow HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients in a courteous, professional, and compassionate manner.
  • Room patients and obtain/document vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant information in the EMR.
  • Prepare exam and procedure rooms and ensure supplies and equipment are available and maintained.
  • Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and office-based procedures.
  • Enter physician-ordered laboratory, diagnostic imaging, and other clinical orders into the EMR.
  • Communicate provider instructions, patient education materials, test results, and follow-up information as directed.
  • Triage patient calls and messages, escalate urgent concerns appropriately, and support prescription refill workflows according to established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation while ensuring patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment and clinical areas in accordance with OSHA guidelines and infection control standards.
  • Support front office functions, including scheduling and patient check-in/check-out, as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with providers, patients, and team members to promote quality patient care and a positive patient experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the department and organization.
