About The Position
This position is for a Clinical Assistant on the Med Surg Ortho 6 West unit at Troy Hospital. The unit is a 25-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit with a multidisciplinary team working together to provide compassionate care. Troy Hospital is recognized by US News & World Report for its orthopedic and urological services and ranked by Newsweek. The Clinical Assistant will provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse. They will also manage supplies and equipment, provide care according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy, and document in the electronic medical record. The role includes acting as a receptionist, organizing daily work assignments based on unit priorities, and actively participating in safety initiatives. A full week of corporate orientation is required, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required

Responsibilities
- Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Clerical/manages supplies/equipment in designated care areas.
- Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy.
- Documents in electronic medical record.
- Acts as a receptionist and organizes daily work assignment based on unit priorities.

- Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
