About The Position

Facilitates patient visits and supports the health care provider by anticipating and responding to patient needs and requests of the health care team. Allows care providers to focus on patient care by coordinating details of patient visits which include: daily activities of the care providers in a multispecialty medical practice, preparing patients, completing pre-examination record information, managing the flow of patient materials. Obtain or verify patient demographics and properly advise patients of scheduling delays or changes to the appropriate individuals, and serving as a direct contact and resource to the patient. Perform related clerical duties such as processing prior authorizations which may include fax and on-line requests, as well as processing patient appointment communications and related materials.

Requirements

Ability to anticipate and respond to patient needs and requests.
Skills in coordinating patient visit details.
Proficiency in obtaining or verifying patient demographics.
Ability to advise patients of scheduling changes.
Capability to serve as a direct contact and resource to patients.
Experience with processing prior authorizations.
Experience with processing patient appointment communications and related materials.
