About The Position
Piedmont Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates (PENTA) has joined CEENTA, expanding coordinated ENT care across North Carolina. PENTA is hiring a Clinical Medical Assistant to support providers in a fast-paced, patient-focused healthcare environment. This role is ideal for candidates seeking hands-on patient care experience, medical assistant training opportunities, and career growth in healthcare. A typical day involves welcoming patients, recording medical histories, vital signs, and medication updates in the EHR, assisting Providers with examinations and procedures, sterilizing rooms and equipment, responding to patient messages, processing prescription refill requests, scheduling follow-up visits and surgeries, and keeping documents and work queues updated. The role balances both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth, efficient patient care from start to finish.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- 1–2 years’ clinical experience required, (primary care or ENT preferred)
- Experience with EPIC or EMR systems
- Completion of accredited Medical Assisting program (CAAHEP, ABHES, or AMT‑approved)
Nice To Haves
- CMA, RMA, or LPN certification, preferred
Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients; document history including vital signs, medical histories, and allergies
- Assist Providers with exams, treatments, and in-office procedures
- Administer medications and collect lab specimens
- Provide patient education and serve as a scribe when needed
- Schedule appointments, procedures, and surgeries
- Respond to patient messages and prescription requests
- Accurately document patient information in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
- Clean and restock exam rooms; sterilize equipment and maintain OSHA-compliant safety standards.
- Maintain clinic supply inventory and place orders when needed.
- Support the onboarding and training of new staff and apprentices.
- Collaborate with Providers and clinical team members to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Travel to other PENTA locations as needed.
