Clinical Assistant Pediatric ICU 5S
About The Position
The 5S PICU is an 8-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit that manages the care of patients under 25 who require intensive care. The diagnoses seen are multiple traumas, shock, DKA, respiratory failure, drug overdose, and multiple organ failure. This unit also performs all deep sedation for pediatric procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, LP, bone marrow biopsy, PICC lines, and thoracentesis. Royal Oak Hospital is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the #2 hospital in Michigan and one of the top hospitals in the country. It is a major academic and referral center with Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma designations. The advanced capabilities and clinical expertise within this center have earned it Magnet designation four consecutive times and has the distinct honor of housing Michigan’s first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
Nice To Haves
- Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience preferred.
- Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the unit.
- Monitors and stocks supplies.
- Provides patient care and related functions as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.
