About The Position

This is a 0.9- 1.0 FTE position working at the Webster Clinic, with the potential to float to other locations as needed. The role generally works with a primary care team and typically operates Monday through Friday from 7:40 AM to 4:40 PM. Flexibility is greatly appreciated. This position is responsible for planning and managing patient care according to patient needs, including rooming patients, recording medical history and vital signs, and assisting providers.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program & current CMA/RMA credentials
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS course
• Current LPN licensure in the State of Wisconsin and Minnesota
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS course
• Prior clinic experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under direction of provider.
• Room patients
• Assist providers with procedures, examinations or treatments
• Monitor patient condition during treatments, procedures or activities
• Sterilize medical equipment or instruments
• Administer immunizations per protocol
• Record patient medical histories
• Prepare medical supplies or equipment for use
• Collect specimens from patients and prepare for testing
• Complete appropriate documentation in EMR
• Manages patient follow-up activities and responsibilities.
• Document patient phone calls and follow-up data in EMR
• Maintain medical facility records
• Schedule patient procedures and appointments
• Explain medical procedures or test results to patients and/or family members
• Follow-up regarding patient plans, lab letters and other documents in a timely and accurate manner
• Process other requests, including medication prior authorizations
• Comply with department and facility standards.
• Understand Clinic Policies and Procedures
• Perform work according to organization policies and procedures
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies or equipment
• Order medical supplies or equipment
