About The Position

Applications are invited for a full-time, renewable contract Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Communicative Disorders at the University of Alabama for Fall 2026. The successful candidate will coordinate and conduct speech, language, voice, swallowing, and cognitive evaluations and intervention for children and adults in our community. The position also carries responsibility for supervising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree or clinical doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology
  • ASHA certification
  • Alabama licensure (ABESPA)
  • Out-of-state applicants must be eligible for immediate licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 5 years of position-relevant clinical experience
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in Spanish-English bilingual assessment and intervention
  • Experience working within a university setting
  • Experience with pediatric feeding disorders
  • Familiarity with supervising graduate student clinicians
