About The Position

This role provides patient and room preparation support to clinicians, including patient preparation for appointments and care activities within the scope of practice. Responsibilities may include cleaning and maintaining equipment, ordering inventory, restocking supplies, performing procedures, collecting and analyzing data to inform clinical decisions, and ensuring work areas are organized and safe. The role also involves responding to and resolving inquiries from patient families. Additionally, the position requires developing, evaluating, and managing databases, ensuring data integrity, standardizing processes, and potentially coordinating data collection and analysis. Administrative support for departmental operations, oversight of recurring events and employee matters, and assistance with special projects are also key functions. The role demands a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, supporting compliance efforts, monitoring safety policies, and ensuring timely fulfillment of certifications. Collaboration with department managers and sharing safety best practices are expected, along with adherence to CMS standards and communication of safety concerns. The position emphasizes integrating age-specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care and assisting with patient-related activities within a clinical discipline.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
  • Audiology Aide License by the State of Ohio, where applicable

Responsibilities

  • Support clinician in room preparation, patient preparation for appointments, and patient care activities within scope of practice.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, order inventory, and restock supplies.
  • Perform procedures, collect data, analyze data, and inform clinical decisions regarding patient care, including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care and reassessment.
  • Ensure work areas are organized and safe.
  • Respond and follow up with referrals and inquiries from patient families, efficiently and effectively resolving issues.
  • Develop/design/create, evaluate, restructure, and/or manage specific database(s).
  • Input and ensure the integrity of data and/or records.
  • Standardize and document processes.
  • Coordinate data collection.
  • Conduct data analysis, create reports, and disseminate to the appropriate individuals.
  • Provide administrative oversight and assistance for departmental operations and programs.
  • Oversee recurring events and projects relating to staff employee matters.
  • Assist with special projects, reports, and assignments.
  • Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Support leadership in compliance efforts to meet and sustain the regulatory compliance efforts of the department and hospital.
  • Monitor safety and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all individual certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled in a timely basis.
  • Work with department managers, nurse council and magnet representatives to identify and share safety best practices.
  • Be mindful of CCHMC's processes and compliance with CMS standards and freely communicate safety and compliance concerns to team members.
  • Consistently support the integration of age specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care, taking into consideration both the patient's chronological age and developmental functioning.
  • Provide assistance with patient related activities within a clinical discipline.
