The Indian River Pulmonary Intensivists Clinic provides specialized lung care, including pulmonary disease diagnosis and treatment, critical care medicine and interventional pulmonology. As a Clinical Assistant I (LPN), you will assist your fellow LPNs, RNs and other healthcare staff in providing exceptional patient support and attention. This position is a great introduction to the Cleveland Clinic enterprise before exploring further our numerous educational or professional development opportunities. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 4:30PM or 8:30AM – 5:00PM.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program
Current Florida licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Knowledge of Infection Control Practices
Computer literacy

Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care to patients as appropriate.
Provide accurate medication administration and nursing documentation such as medical records, authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
Recognize changes in patient status and report pertinent information to Charge Nurse or Physicians.
Recognize and follow through with nursing intervention.
Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times.
Perform patient teaching as needed under the supervision of RN/Physician.
Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
Follow Code Blue protocol as per clinic policy.
This position requires knowledge of all aspects of patient care including assessing; planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the patients progress through the entire continuum of car in conjunction with the R.N. or physician.
