The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking an assistant/associate professor whose teaching and scholarly research agenda is focused on Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate-level courses. Faculty in this role will provide student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development, and engagement in program assessment accreditation-related procedures. The ideal candidate will be expected to: (i) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate courses in psychiatric mental health nursing, (ii) supervise and support student projects for the Doctor of Nursing Practice ( DNP program, and (ii)i provide service to the SON , the college and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations. This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track position. Candidate must hold a doctoral degree in nursing and demonstrate pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to PMHNP . Candidate must hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina or have eligibility to obtain a North Carolina Registered Nurse License and must hold a national certification of APRN as Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner ( PMHNP ).
