About The Position

This is a full-time Clinical Assistant 2 position in a high-volume practice offering a rewarding, team-oriented work environment. The role involves performing tasks pertinent to the age of the patient (infancy to geriatric) and maintaining accurate inventory of medical supplies. The Clinical Assistant will perform all clinical assistant duties following nursing procedures, excluding venipuncture, injections, IVs, IV medications, and triage, as directed by the clinician. Upon competency training, duties will include obtaining nursing intake (vital signs, documentation in electronic medical records), preparing and stocking examination rooms, collecting and preparing specimens for laboratory testing, preparing instruments for sterilization, supporting healthcare providers during procedures, setting up equipment, assisting with minor procedures, and providing patient comfort. The role also requires using assessment skills in emergency situations, following standing orders, assisting in quality assurance and control, participating in continuing education, and ensuring the efficient flow of patients. The position requires attending work as scheduled and performing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program or (EMT) Emergency Medical Technician Program
  • Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric)
  • Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies.
  • Performs all clinical assistant duties following the nursing procedures (with the exception of venipuncture, injections, IVs and IV medications, triage) as directed by the clinician according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual.
  • Obtain Nursing intake as listed in the Nursing Procedure to include measuring of vital signs, documentation in the electronic medical records.
  • Preparing examination rooms, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized environment
  • Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and transport according to clinic protocols.
  • Prepare instruments for sterilization
  • Support healthcare providers during medical procedures, examinations, and treatments.
  • Set up equipment, assist with minor procedures, and provide comfort and reassurance to patients.
  • Use assessment skills in Emergency situation and follow standing orders in emergency situations.
  • Assists in quality assurance and control.
  • Participates in the continuing educational process and renewal of certifications per state guidelines.
  • Assists in the efficient flow of patients.
  • Attends work as scheduled.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
