About The Position

The Clinical Aide supports the delivery of comprehensive primary healthcare services within a family medicine clinic setting. Working under the supervision and direction of a licensed physician and reporting to the physician while maintaining a healthy, respectful and professional behaviour with other clinic staff. Clinical Aide assists with patient care coordination, clinical procedures, documentation, and day-to-day clinic operations while maintaining high standards of professionalism, patient safety, and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • A medical degree from a school of medicine listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools
  • Successful completion of the MCCEE (Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination) or MCCQE (Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination)
  • Experience with EMR (Med Access, CHR, Accuro) software
  • Excellent communication, listening and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent clinical and customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information in compliance with the relevant provincial privacy legislation
  • CPR – Health Care Provider BLS is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer skills including Excel and word are an asset

Responsibilities

  • Preparing the patients for physician assessment and complete medical examinations
  • Recording vital signs, heights, weights, visual acuities
  • Recording accurately and maintaining patient’s records and complete administrative tasks as per physician’s instruction including sending referrals, booking investigations and responding to queries.
  • Assisting the physician with breast and pelvic examinations and IUD procedures
  • Performs a variety of care interventions and medical procedures as permitted and supervised by the physician, within the designated scope of practice including administering injections, vaccinations, Ear flushes, applying dressing & wound care.
  • Support patient flow and scheduling within a busy clinic environment.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy standards.
  • Follows standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Actively participates in company initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
