About The Position

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Aide to join our team in Gilman, IL. This role is at the center of providing accessible, compassionate behavioral health care, bridging clinical care and daily operations. It is a meaningful role for someone who understands the recovery journey and wants to be a consistent, trusted presence for people working hard to change their lives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of professional boundaries in a therapeutic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay calm and supportive in a fast-paced setting
  • Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field
  • One or more years of experience in substance use or mental health treatment settings
  • Experience working with clients at detox and/or residential levels of care
  • CAP, CADC, or another addiction-related certification
  • Lived experience with recovery is highly valued

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive, therapeutic environment by engaging with clients, reinforcing program expectations, and modeling healthy behaviors
  • Provide non-clinical support to clients in distress and connect them quickly with licensed therapists as needed
  • Keep clients on track with encouragement, schedule reminders, and logistical support
  • Co-facilitate psychoeducational and support groups alongside licensed clinicians
  • Act as a communication link between therapists, the clinical team, and outside providers
  • Shadow clinical staff to deepen understanding of therapeutic approaches and program structure
  • Assist Primary Therapists with scribing during sessions and help maintain client documentation under supervision
  • Prepare session materials and organize client case files
  • Enter non-clinical data into the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Support general administrative tasks including scanning, uploading, and filing documents
