About The Position

Crossroads is an Arizona Department of Health Services licensed substance abuse treatment provider with proven expertise in serving men, women, and Veterans with Substance Use Disorder through the provision of high quality, successful, and affordable residential and outpatient recovery programs. Due to federal contracts the following items are prohibited: Medical/Recreational marijuana, current parole, or probation. The Clinical Aide (CA) primary responsibility is to assist clients with self- administration of medication to clients, medication audits, working with Pharmacies and Doctor’s offices to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must meet Arizona Department of Health Services personnel member requirements of: at least 21 years old; or licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member's scope of practice.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/Narcan training.
  • Current and annual negative TB Test.
  • Current and valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Successfully pass a background check and an Arizona Department of Health Services Adult Protective Services check.
  • Current “Assistance with Self Administration of Medication” training.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 to 3 months related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check performed annually and upon hire, preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR/EMR records systems.
  • Computer applications/Microsoft Office knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Valid AZ Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with self-administration of medications.
  • Document all medications upon arrival to a facility and ensure all medications are returned to the client at time of discharge.
  • Keep medications and medication room secured and organized per policy and procedures.
  • Perform routine and random medication audits to include proper documentation and accurate distributions/returns with assistance from Program Manager or Assistant Program Manager.
  • Work with clients’ medical practitioners to have medication orders in client records.
  • Work with organizational care managers and university faculty to ensure all clients have a health screen and tuberculosis test within seven (7) days of admittance into the program.
  • Work with other qualified staff members on medication policies and procedures.
  • Documentation regarding medication changes and coordination of care.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Crossroads Medication Policy.
  • Perform other duties, as required.
