Requirements

  • Understanding of basic exercises and PT terminology.
  • Team player and willing to learn.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years' experience in a medical environment, experience in PT department is a plus
  • Experience in customer service/customer facing role
  • Team player, positive “can-do” attitude, energetic, and with a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Caring nature, with a genuine interest in helping people.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • experience in PT department is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with assigned responsibilities by the supervising PTs or PTAs to provide services as specified in the physical therapy plan of care within the scope of on-the-job training with supervision by a PT or PTA who is on the premises and readily available to respond in person.
  • Instruct, motivate, and safeguard patients performing exercises under the direct supervision of a licensed PT provider.
  • Help promote and maintain PT workflow.
  • Be able to work in a busy office environment and multitask.
  • Provide set ups for and break downs after the delivery of PT services.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized PT work area.
  • Help implement treatment for all assigned PT patients.
  • Assist with trained administrative support duties: answering phones, patient scheduling, taking payments, verifying insurance, and obtaining insurance authorizations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of facility, patient information, and HIPPA.
  • Accurately document on exercise flow sheets and communicating patient status to supervisory PT providers.
  • Compliant with infection control procedures and environmental safety protocol within the facility.
