About The Position

Grand Canyon University has an opening for Adjunct Clinical and Lab Nursing faculty members. This adjunct PRN position requires travel within the Boise (Meridian), Idaho area to directly observe student performance, when scheduled for clinical rotations and labs. The role involves reinforcing didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing, and collaborating with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives. Faculty will participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs, remain current with new trends and developments in nursing practice, and maintain compliance with program accreditation requirements. Additionally, faculty will uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession and the pillars of the University, travel to student sites, and provide a positive example by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.

Requirements

• BSN with proof of at least 9 credits/3 classes in any graduate program OR approved national certification related to the content area being taught. Please specify your graduate credits OR national certification on your resume.
• Minimum of 3 years’ recent work experience in Med/Surg or Complex Care/Critical Care nursing with a BSN
• An active, current, unencumbered, and multi-state (compact) RN license
• Must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students

Nice To Haves

• Masters (or higher) in Nursing AND 2 years of recent direct patient care in medical-surgical nursing

Responsibilities

• Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing

• Travel to GCU student sites, directly observing student performance

• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
