About The Position

The Department of Nursing at the Salva School of Nursing & Health Professions seeks qualified Clinical Adjunct Faculty to support Graduate Nurse Practitioner (NP) programs and Undergraduate Community Health Clinical through clinical instruction, student mentorship, and assessment of advanced practice nursing and undergraduate nursing competencies. Clinical adjunct faculty are educators who provide oversight of students during clinical rotations, facilitate the integration of didactic and clinical learning, and contribute to the preparation of future baccalaureate and advanced practice registered nurses. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in nursing education, evidence-based practice, and the development of professional competencies required for advanced nursing practice and national certification.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Active, unencumbered Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license in New Jersey and the state of practice for Graduate Nursing Programs.
  • National board certification in the specialty area being taught (e.g. AGACNP, FNP, PMHNP) for Graduate Nursing Programs.
  • Minimum of three years of recent advanced practice clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the applicable nurse practitioner specialty.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in Nursing or a related field.
  • Previous clinical teaching or precepting experience in undergraduate or graduate nursing education.
  • Experience with online teaching platforms and learning management systems.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Nurse Practitioner/Community Health students in approved clinical practice settings.
  • Facilitate student learning through clinical teaching, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Evaluate student clinical performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Complete clinical evaluation documentation and competency assessments.
  • Conduct site visits and maintain communication with clinical preceptors and agencies as required.
  • Support students in achieving program outcomes and specialty-specific competencies.
  • Grade clinical assignments and other course-related activities as assigned.
  • Participate in course meetings and faculty development activities as appropriate.
  • Utilize university learning management systems and other educational technologies to support instruction.
  • Promote professional standards, ethical practice, patient safety, and evidence-based care.

Benefits

  • minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught
  • maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year
