About The Position

The Center for Pain Relief is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to work as a Clinic Surgical Scheduler. This is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts available during the day. The role involves preparing patients for orthopedic examinations and procedures, recording patient history, instructing patients on pre- and post-operative care, assisting in procedures, facilitating diagnostic tests, and managing patient records and appointments within the EHR system. A High School Diploma or equivalent, Medical Assistant Certification, and a current BLS certificate are required. A minimum of one year of public contact experience is necessary, with healthcare experience being preferred.

Requirements

Certified Medical Assistant from the National Healthcare Association or other nationally recognized organization
High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
Minimum one year work experience in public contact job
Work experience in health care preferred

Responsibilities

Greet and prepare patients for orthopedic examinations and procedures
Record patient history, vital signs, and orthopedic-specific information
Instruct patients on pre-operative (pre-op) and post-operative (post-op) care and medication regimens
Help in orthopedic procedures, including bandaging, splinting, and wound care
Facilitate diagnostic tests, imaging tests (e.g., X-rays, MRIs) and ensure accurate documentation of results
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, including sterilization and inventory management of medical supplies and equipment
Schedule patient appointments, manage charts, and update (Electronic Medical Records) EHR systems with patient information
