About The Position

Cameron Hospital is a 25-bed, independent, not-for-profit facility that proudly serves Angola and Steuben County as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital. We’ve been a cornerstone of this community and the surrounding area in northeast Indiana dating back to 1926. This role is within the Physical Therapy department and is PRN (Part-time, as needed).

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be able to type accurately at a moderate speed.
  • Must be familiar with basic computer operation
  • Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with hospital personnel and patients.
  • Must be trustworthy with confidential patient information.
  • Must be C.P.R. certified.
  • Demonstrate proficient use of email and hospital EMR.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient scheduling; processes patient records; monitors patient charges in computer; compiles daily and monthly departmental statistics.
  • Provides department’s receptionist/secretarial needs, participates in guest relations.
  • Assures someone is present at all times to receive patients and or families into department.
  • Accurately and efficiently operates office equipment including telephone, pagers, computer, and transcriber.
  • Uses cordial phone manners with all callers.
  • Schedules inpatient and outpatient appointments.
  • Monitors and corrects daily charges into computer.
  • Gathers and reports daily and monthly statistics for OT, PT, ST, and cardiopulmonary rehab in a timely manner.
  • Completes initial patient records and maintains records during active treatment.
  • Supervises record storage in department and processes medical records in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that all therapists’ requested paperwork is distributed to physicians in a timely manner and completes miscellaneous office duties as requested.
  • Completes preauthorization of insurance Medicaid, and Workman’s Compensation.
  • Completes all insurance authorizations for ongoing therapies and communicates to patient and providers insurance issues.
  • Contributes to positive environment through cooperation, positive guest relations attitude, reporting promptly as scheduled for work and other contributions outside of established performance standards.
  • Attends monthly department meetings and keeps minutes.
  • Coordinates volunteer assignments to assist in essential job functions.
  • Performs other departmental functions as assigned by Director of Rehabilitation.
