The Clinic Nurse I is accountable for interpreting the plan of Medical care, assessment of patients, devising the patient care plan, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients under the direction of the nurse in charge. This role involves performing systematic assessments, reviewing ancillary reports, and communicating findings. The nurse will interpret medical care plans, devise patient care plans, and maintain control of medicines, equipment, and supplies. Planning for continuity of care, referring patients to social workers, and ensuring a safe environment are key responsibilities. The role includes implementing care plans, performing treatments and procedures, assisting physicians, and providing patient and family education. Documentation, report preparation, and accompanying patients during transfers are also part of the duties. The Clinic RN will review the work of LPNs and Clinic Clerks, participate in teaching and orientation activities, attend committee meetings and inservices, and take responsibility for personal professional development. Assisting in policy and procedure development and maintaining patient confidentiality are also essential.
