About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cancer Care Center provides compassionate, patient-centered care to oncology patients in an outpatient setting. This role is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care, including the safe administration of chemotherapy, patient education, symptom management, and emotional support throughout the treatment journey. The RN collaborates closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, responds effectively to changes in patient condition, and performs a variety of clinical and administrative responsibilities, including lab draws, electronic documentation, procedure support, and insurance authorizations. This position also serves as a mentor to new nursing staff and, with experience, may assume charge nurse and telephone triage responsibilities.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in oncology patient care.
- Proficiency in chemotherapy administration.
- Skills in patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Ability to provide patient education.
- Competence in symptom management.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to respond to changes in patient condition.
- Experience with lab draws.
- Proficiency in electronic documentation.
