About The Position

The Clinic Resource Nurse I is responsible for providing nursing care and serving as a clinical resource within the clinic, with a specialized focus on Co-Coordination of vaccine management. This position requires overseeing vaccine inventory, ensuring proper storage and handling, and coordinating vaccination programs in collaboration with healthcare providers and public health agencies. The position supports patient care, acts as a resource for clinical staff, and ensures compliance with vaccine protocols and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Wyoming.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong clinical skills in nursing care and vaccine administration.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management, record-keeping, and vaccine documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and education to patients, caregivers and clinic staff.
  • Familiarity with CDC guidelines, vaccine schedules, and public health regulations related to immunizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in vaccine management or immunization training is preferred.
  • Previous experience in inventory management, vaccine handling, or a role involving immunization programs is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including conducting assessments, administering vaccines, and offering patient education related to immunizations.
  • Act as a clinical resource to staff, assisting with complex cases and providing guidance on clinical practices, patient safety, and vaccine administration.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery and vaccination processes.
  • Ensure adherence to clinic policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, including infections control and vaccine-related guidelines.
  • Assist in managing the clinic's vaccine inventory, including ordering, receiving, and ensuring proper storage and handling in compliance with CDC and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Monitor vaccine storage conditions, ensuring that temperatures are consistently maintained within the required range to preserve vaccine efficacy.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks to prevent vaccine shortages, overstocking, and expiration of supplies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vaccine usage, inventory levels, and administration, ensuring proper documentation in patient records and reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with the lead Vaccine Coordinator to implement and manage the clinic's immunization programs, ensuring patient needs are met and vaccination schedules are adhered to.
  • Coordinate with public health agencies and other partners to receive up-to-date information on vaccine recommendations, schedules, and best practices.
  • Train clinic staff on proper vaccine administration techniques, storage, and handling, including management of temperature monitoring equipment and vaccine reporting systems.
  • Ensure the clinics follow all state and federal guidelines related to vaccines, including VFC (Vaccines for Children) program requirements.
