About The Position

Woman’s offers a variety of outpatient health clinics, specialty practices and services for the community. The Woman’s Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic is looking for a part-time Clinic Registered Ultrasound Technologist. This role involves arranging supplies and equipment, ensuring availability of stock, cleaning equipment, greeting patients, explaining procedures, collecting clinical history, verifying patient data, entering patient information into the computer, generating reports, practicing universal precautions, performing ultrasounds according to physician orders and departmental policies, enhancing image quality, suggesting improvements for department functions, patient care, and cost containment, accepting constructive criticism, and ensuring licensure and continuing education credits are current. The position is part-time, with two or three shifts a week, Monday through Friday, with a combination of 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and 8:00 am to 4:00 pm shifts. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited program in Ultrasound Technology (at least 18 months)
  • Current registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
  • At least one year of experience as a registered sonographer
  • One year of experience in OB is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Arranges supplies and equipment between each patient and procedure to insure timeliness of the examination.
  • Assures availability of supplies/stocks and reorders as needed.
  • Cleans equipment and transducers according to area procedures.
  • Greets each patient, identifies self, and explains procedures.
  • Collects pertinent clinical history prior to the examination to aid in diagnostic evaluation.
  • Verifies history and patient demographics and reason for orders.
  • Enters patient data, history, and fetal measurements into the computer and generates a patient report.
  • Uses gloves, goggles, gowns and other protective equipment, when necessary, practicing universal precautions with each patient encounter taking personal protection seriously.
  • Ultrasounds properly identified patient per physician order only and according to departmental policies and procedures, without delay.
  • Actively participates to enhance image quality and in turn the quality of care.
  • Looks for and actively suggests ideas to improve department functions, patient care and cost containment.
  • Accepts and responds positively to constructive criticism by supervisory and administrative personnel.
  • Ensures licensure and continuing education credits are in order and current, to maintain active licensure with appropriate credentialing agency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
