About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated, patient-focused Clinical Team Member to support our busy outpatient practice in Tupelo, MS. This role is open to Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) based on licensure/certification and clinical experience. The Clinical Team Member is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, supporting providers, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This position requires a compassionate, organized individual who can work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, clinical support staff, and administrative teams to provide excellent patient care and service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant clinical certification/license: RN: Active and unencurrected RN license in Mississippi. LPN: Active and unencumbered LPN license in Mississippi.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
  • Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to take patient histories, assess clinical conditions, and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality and professional standards.
  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and empathy in patient interactions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients as needed.
  • Must be able to lift supplies and assist with patient positioning when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in a physician practice, urgent care, or outpatient setting.
  • Experience with orthopedic, sports medicine, or specialty care.

Responsibilities

  • Take accurate vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate) and document findings in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Room patients, review reason for visit, chief complaint, medication lists, allergies, and document clinical information.
  • Prepare patients for examination by providers (RN/LPN/MA task as appropriate).
  • Assist providers during clinical procedures, treatments, and minor interventions.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as permitted by licensure and clinic policy (RNs and LPNs).
  • Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., glucose checks, EKGs if trained/authorized).
  • Perform wound care, suture/staple removal, dressing changes (skill level assessed by licensure/experience).
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care.
  • Document all patient encounters accurately in EMR and communicate results to providers.
  • Schedule follow-up visits, diagnostic testing, and hospital procedures.
  • Coordinate referrals and authorizations.
  • Respond to patient requests for medication refills and clinical inquiries.
  • Maintain clinical supply inventory and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
  • Adhere to infection control standards, HIPAA policies, and clinic safety procedures.
