The Clinic Receptionist greets patients and visitors, determines the nature and purpose of visits, and assists with check-in, paperwork collection, data entry, and appointment scheduling. This role involves welcoming patients and visitors, directing calls and visitors to appropriate staff, completing prompt and accurate patient registration, collecting payments, obtaining insurance pre-authorizations and benefits, completing insurance verification, Medicare Secondary Payer, and Advanced Beneficiary Notice. The receptionist is also responsible for scheduling, confirming, canceling, and rescheduling appointments, thoroughly completing charts for upcoming visits, and efficiently utilizing EMR features. Clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, verification, and ordering supplies are also part of the role. Regular attendance and meeting ongoing competency requirements are essential.
