Join the Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD) as a Clinic Public Health Nurse II and make a difference by serving those most in need in our community. FCHD is a progressive public health leader providing services that promote population health, protect public health and the environment, and ensure residents' equitable access to health services and information. This role offers a robust one-year orientation, the opportunity to work collaboratively with community partners, and a learning culture that values growth, flexibility, and work-life balance. You will provide nursing services such as pregnancy testing and counseling, maternity services, public health assessment, international travel vaccinations, refugee services, sexually transmitted disease treatment and follow-up, HIV testing and counseling, tuberculosis screening and treatment, and adult and childhood immunizations. You will also identify gaps in community resources and share them with appropriate department staff. The position is located at the Franconia Springfield Public Health Center with operating hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM on Tuesday. Additional work schedule requirements include flexibility based on department needs, with occasional early starts (7:00 a.m.), late finishes (9:30 p.m.), and weekend work. Assignment to various sites may occur, and you must provide your own transportation. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for fully qualified new county employees.
