About The Position

Our practice offers outstanding primary care and preventative health care to the entire family, from newborns to seniors, all conveniently located in beautiful downtown South Berwick located at 31 Colcord Street, South Berwick, ME 03908. We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Clinic/Practice Assistant to support our Family Practice! The operating hours of our practice are: - Mondays & Thursdays: 7:30am-5:00pm - Wednesdays: 7:30am-6:00pm - Tuesdays & Fridays: 6:30am-5:00pm The schedule consists of staggered 8-hour shifts that are determined based on practice needs and team availability. This front desk role is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and providing outstanding customer service. While previous healthcare admin experience is a plus, it is not required. We are happy to train the right candidate who brings a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn. Summary: Performs administrative functions to support smooth and efficient clinical service or practice operations under close to general supervision. Performs basic clerical work and tasks that are repetitive and routine. Administrative duties related to patient visits including scheduling, check-in, check-out duties. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • healthcare office experience 0-1 year required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare admin experience is a plus
  • Medical office setting experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Strong computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to a clinical service or physician practice office.
  • Make patient appointments and maintain appointment records.
  • Greet and assist patients.
  • Answer telephones, assist callers with routine inquiries, and schedule appointments.
  • File materials in patient folders, and print appointment schedules.
  • Process patient billing forms and scan documents to patient medical record/LMR.
  • Call for patient medical records and laboratory test results.
  • Open and distribute mail or faxes.
  • Type forms, records, schedules, memos, etc., as directed.
  • May be required to accept co-payments.
  • Handles, screens and/or takes messages related to prior authorizations, referrals, and verify registrations for accuracy.
  • May monitor patients in waiting room and responds to any needs for information.
  • Assists in patient flow processes.
