About The Position

Osceola Medical Center (OMC) is seeking a Clinic Pharmacist to provide exceptional customer service and care. This role involves providing comprehensive pharmacy services to patients and medical practitioners, including filling prescriptions, dispensing medications, counseling on medication use, and supervising pharmacy support personnel. The pharmacist will also prepare and maintain all necessary prescription records in compliance with pharmacy regulations and perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements

  • BS or PharmD degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Competent in use of supplies provided
  • Currently licensed (or pursuing licensure) to practice pharmacy in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
  • Knowledge of medications and reference resources

  • 1-3 years retail and/or pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and/or oversees the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications to patients, making decisions regarding generic substitution.
  • Processes prescription medication orders in the pharmacy computer system.
  • Counsels patients and/or medical practitioners on drug indications/contraindications, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects.
  • Supervises pharmacy technicians and clerks, ensuring work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Obtains refill authorizations from providers.
  • Administers immunizations to patients as requested/ordered.
  • Completes sales of prescriptions and OTC products at the register.
  • Replenishes department supplies as needed.
  • Adheres to state and federal legal requirements.
  • Prioritizes workload to adhere to budgeted hours.
  • Reports to work on time.
  • Assists in training new staff and provides appropriate feedback.
  • Maintains open communication with the manager.
  • Provides annual self-assessment.
  • Completes required facility education.
  • Maintains licensure and completes required continuing education (CE).
  • Works independently and addresses issues appropriately in the manager’s absence.
  • Completes/makes progress on assigned project work.
  • Develops and maintains policies, procedures, forms, programs, and plans for the department.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with internal and external customers.
