Delafield Pediatrics currently has an opening for a .6 FTE Clinic RN.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing in order to meet the recommended entry level for a professional nurse required
  • Ability to work with a diverse patient population to promote a culturally competent environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for positive and effective interaction with patients, families, visitors, providers, and the health care team.
  • Good organization, delegation, and communication skills to facilitate efficient patient care.
  • Strong demonstrated ability in assessment, analytical decision making, and critical thinking.
  • Analytical skills are necessary to assess complex patient conditions effectively. Requires the ability to synthesize multiple sources of information to assist in patient care.
  • Ability to assist and support other primary care locations as requested by leaders and/or the Children’s Medical Group float policy.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required
  • License RN-Registered Nurse (30) - State of Wisconsin OR License RN-Registered Nurse (IN Compact) - State of Indiana OR License RN-Registered Nurse (AZ Compact) - State of Arizona

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
  • 2+ years experience in a primary care or urgent care setting preferred
  • Experience with pediatric patients preferred
  • Triage experience in a clinical pediatric setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Practice within the Code of Ethics and Standards of Nursing Practice.
  • Perform triage via phone and patient messaging in the electronic health record.
  • Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately, and maintain accountability for the quality of care.
  • Provide for the health education needs of families with a focus on self-management and preventive health.
  • Adhere to all Children’s Wisconsin and Children’s Medical Group policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure confidentiality to our customers by creating and maintaining a secure and trusting environment; maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Provide exceptional care to patients and families to fulfill our patient experience promise.
  • Regularly perform RN duties and maintain own patient care competencies as determined by position scope of practice.
  • Provide in person clinical care during nurse visits, providing education to families, and coordination of care as needed.
  • Notify provider of any patient needing immediate assistance.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines as required to coordinate patient assessment, develop/monitor outcomes, implement plan of care, and monitor variances to ensure quality patient care.
  • Provide nursing care via telephone triage and electronic health record, using standardized pediatric assessment, care protocols and patient guidance and education to the necessary disposition of care.
  • Document in accordance with organizational nursing standards.
  • Adapt to changing work assignments and schedules.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
