This role is foundational to clinic flow and directly impacts provider efficiency, patient throughput, and care quality. A dedicated COA will Room patients for providers, manager telephone encounters and patient messages, respond to MyChart communications, complete prior authorizations and coordinate referrals, and support patients needs. This role also performs essential technical tasks that directly support colorectal surgery operations: Assist with in-office procedures and examinations (hemorrhoid banding, anoscopy, and anorectal manometry) Perform suture/staple removal and basic wound care Process tissue/biopsy samples Assist in managing postoperative complications Maintain sterile technique and equipment safety Obtain and document surgical clearances Support perioperative coordination, including pre-authorizations and medication management. These responsibilities require consistent staffing to maintain safe and efficient workflows.
