About The Position

The AMBUL CARE ADMSTN SUPV 1 serves as the Clinic Office Manager and as the Exercise Physiologist (25%) for the professional activities of the Occupational and Environmental Clinic at the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH). Serves as a member of the decision-making professional team, with clinical and administrative staff and operations, facilitating, scheduling, and tracking patient visits for 20-30 contracted employer occupational health programs. The Exercise Physiologist will act as a provider performing clinical fitness testing procedures for pre-placement evaluations and wellness programs. The Clinic Manager role includes the oversight and management of the clinic’s day to day operations. Duties include management and coordination of outside lab and x-ray services, outside service referrals and assist doctors with case coordination. Other assignments: Assistance and participation in teaching activities for the Occupational Medicine Residency Program and other special groups.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated supervisory and organizational skills to effectively supervise staff and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with clinic / center administration.
  • Strong knowledge of practice operations, patient-scheduling systems, medical and insurance terminology, applicable information systems, patient service standards, regulatory requirement and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with all levels of management and staff, consultants, and outside agencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, to convey complex administrative, clinical, and technical information in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare and present a variety of reports, documentation, analyses, and project proposals.
  • Strong knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in clinic / center operations.
  • Knowledgeable about confidentiality of data according to HIPPA and JCAHO guidelines
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
  • American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist
  • NIOSH Spirometry
  • CAOHC Hearing Conservation
  • 3-5 years Experience in administering and interpreting 12 lead EKG treadmill tests
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience ability to accommodate and manage a variety of testing situations and clients
  • 3-5 years Experience working as an Exercise Physiologist in a clinic setting
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
