KEBM built the Clinic Manager role specifically to fix the issue of clinical authority being buried in facility budgets, vendor coordination, and scheduling emergencies. This role is designed for individuals who excel at both running a clinic and supervising clinicians. One current Clinic Manager earned her BCBA while in this position, highlighting the role's potential for growth and its focus on operational excellence alongside clinical duties. The role involves managing the clinic as a physical and operational environment, including cleanliness, safety, facility maintenance, vendor relationships, and emergency preparedness. It also includes managing scheduling for therapists, clients, and various service settings (clinic, home, community, Telehealth), ensuring efficient operations and appropriate therapist-client matching. The Clinic Manager is responsible for the clinic's budget and financial metrics, such as billable hours, productivity, and cost tracking, requiring them to report on performance and identify areas for improvement. A significant part of the role (60%) involves providing direct clinical supervision to RBTs, Lead RBTs, and Program Supervisor Trainees, ensuring accountability and clinical oversight. The Clinic Manager also contributes to Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), treatment planning, and clinical decision-making under the guidance of a Lead BCBA or Assistant Clinical Director. Client onboarding, family communication, and retention are key responsibilities, making the Clinic Manager the primary point of contact for families. Additionally, the role involves partnering with the business development team to support client acquisition strategies and community engagement for the clinic.
