About The Position

CoxHealth is seeking a Clinic LPN/Medical Assistant III for their Harrison location. This role involves both administrative and clinical duties. Administrative tasks include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry. Clinical duties encompass measuring vital signs, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, stocking supplies, and administering medications under supervision. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and for Medical Assistants, completion of a formal MA training program including specific coursework and an externship. For LPNs, graduation from an accredited practical nursing program is required. Previous experience in a healthcare or direct patient contact setting is preferred. Excellent communication and computer skills are necessary, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • For MA: Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship.
  • For LPN: Graduate of an state board accredited practical nursing program
  • Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Arkansas
  • Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider or as directed by supervisors or with provider oversite.
  • Proficient Computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people
  • Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting
  • Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting
  • IV certification in State of Arkansas

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records.
