About The Position

This position involves both administrative and clinical duties within a primary care clinic. Administrative tasks include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry into medical records. Clinical duties encompass measuring and recording vital signs, collecting patient demographics and medical information (including medication lists), preparing patients for examinations, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. The role also includes the administration of medications as ordered by a physician and performing specific competencies as directed by the department. The MA III role requires graduation from a formal MA training program including pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, medication administration basics, and a clinical externship. The LPN role requires graduation from a state board accredited practical nursing program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (for MA)
  • Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship (for MA, effective 9/1/20).
  • Graduate of an state board accredited practical nursing program (for LPN).
  • Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri (for LPN).
  • Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP (for MA).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider or as directed by supervisors.
  • Proficient Computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people (for MA).
  • Previous experience in a health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting (for MA).
  • Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting (for LPN).
  • IV certification in State of Missouri (for LPN).
