About The Position

Open Eyes Vision Center is seeking a reliable and compassionate Optometric Clinic Lead to join our clinic in Fort Worth Hulen Mall. This is an excellent opportunity to learn new skills as an entry into the healthcare field and to grow within our practice as you build your skills. This role combines patient care with administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations and an excellent patient experience. Saturdays are required. A fluent Spanish speaker is a huge plus, but not a requirement. Schedule: Full time - 5 days per week. Our clinics are open 6 days per week, with lead and management staff off either Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, depending on staffing. Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays are our busiest days and are part of our standard work week. PTO can be used for any of these days off once earned. Due to the nature of our business, we have several time periods throughout the year that require all hands on deck during which additional time off is prohibited. These include spring break, several weeks surrounding the start of school in the fall and the last two weeks of the year. Standard days off still apply, but additional PTO cannot be approved due to the patient volume. We value teamwork and during these times, we are highly dependent on each and every member of the teams to best serve our patients. Saturdays are required - always our busiest days in the clinic. Please do not apply if you are unavailable to work Saturdays on a regular basis. Our standard work hours vary by position and shift, but our clinics are open 9 am to 6 pm Typical shifts include 9 am - 5:30 pm, 9:30 am to 6 pm and 10 am to 5 pm. Our last patient appointment is 5:15 pm, so it's very rare we are not leaving the clinic by 6 pm.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (required)

Nice To Haves

Medical Assistant certification (preferred, not required)
Prior medical/optometry office experience (preferred; training provided)
Fluent Spanish speaker

Responsibilities

Prepare exam rooms and sanitize equipment
Escort patients, record medical history, and perform basic pre-tests (auto-refraction, tonometry, visual acuity)
Educate patients on eye health and contact lens care
Assist doctors during exams and maintain accurate EHR records
Monitor and restock clinical supplies
Become proficient using pre=testing machines such as the autorefractor and capturing retinal imaging. All training provided.
Ultimately perform all duties of an ophthalmic technician
Greet and assist patients at check-in
Schedule appointments and help manage patient flow
Keep clinic and reception areas clean and welcoming
Check patients out and collect payment
