About The Position

The Director of Clinic will plan, direct, and assist with the implementation of medical and health services and programs of the ambulatory services department providing clinical services to patients. Establishes appropriate levels of care and ensures that high standards and quality in healthcare are met. This role involves providing leadership and direction for the clinical and business operations of multiple clinic areas and programs to ensure the delivery of quality patient care, high patient satisfaction, financial stewardship and the development of services according to the mission, vision, and strategic goals. The Director will maintain communication between governing boards, medical staff, and department heads, and use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. They will also review and analyze facility activities and data to aid planning and cash and risk management and to improve service utilization. The position requires knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Responsibilities include assisting and administering fiscal operations, preparing activity reports, and providing guidance and direction to subordinates. The Director will also direct or conduct recruitment, hiring, and training of personnel, establish work schedules, and may provide assistance in overseeing all student health services for local colleges/universities.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing or a related field required.
  • Must have some knowledge in clinical practices, strategic planning, administrative, and/or financial principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Preferred three years of experience in leading and managing a multifunctional business or complex organization.
  • Licensure and/or certification in area of healthcare specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all student health services for local colleges/universities (depending on location).
  • Assess departmental staffing needs and participate in resourcing efforts.
  • Compare planned budgets vs. actual expenditures, identify, report, and explain variances.
  • Deliver written and oral communication, respond to questions and concerns, and produce specific outcomes and impact.
