About The Position

Alliance Spine & Pain is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join their JCAHO-certified ambulatory surgery center team in Peachtree City. This role offers a blend of work and play, with competitive compensation and benefits. The CMA will act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, documenting clinical notes in the EMR. Responsibilities may include both ASC and clinic duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR AED) certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a medical office.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and correct spelling of medications.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain good relationships with providers and coworkers.
  • Ability to effectively give and receive information from patients, providers, and other employees.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to become proficient with the eClinicalWorks EMR system.
  • Prior experience with an EMR required.

Nice To Haves

  • Pain management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the schedule for patient arrivals.
  • Collect patients from the waiting room and escort them to a clinic room, preparing them for their appointment.
  • Document and maintain patient information in the electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Merge patient charts, take vital signs, verify medications, and triage patients for the provider.
  • Follow procedures for collecting, preparing, documenting, and shipping urine specimens.
  • Prepare prescriptions for provider signatures.
  • Complete patient charts by the end of the workday.
  • Initiate prior authorizations upon receipt and complete them within 72 hours, notifying the patient of the process.
  • Clean and sanitize clinic rooms at the end of the day.
  • Restock clinic rooms with necessary supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by healthcare providers, Charge Nurse, Clinic Lead, or Regional Administrator.
