About The Position

Seeking a Medical Assistant Apprentice, Clinic Care Tech, Medical Assistant, or a Licensed Practical Nurse to serve in Essentia Health's family practice at Hayward Clinic in Hayward WI. This position will work 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with no holidays or weekends. Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Apprentice: Enrolled in the In-Clinic Assistant Training Apprenticeship Program (ICATAP).
  • Medical Assistant Apprentice: Must obtain CCMA Board Certification within 12 months of completing the apprentice education program and meeting the on the job hours requirement.
  • Medical Assistant Apprentice: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months.
  • Medical Assistant or LPN: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in appropriate state (Minnesota, Wisconsin), OR current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR Verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
  • Medical Assistant or LPN: Must become certified within one year of date of hire (Must pass certification within two attempts).
  • Medical Assistant or LPN: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months.
  • Clinic Care Technician: Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Clinic Care Technician: Certification/Licensure Requirements: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months.

Nice To Haves

  • LPNs cannot be used in the Medical Assistant Apprentice capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting RN, Physician and other providers with direct patient care in the ambulatory setting.
  • Performing identified procedures individually once competencies have been demonstrated.
  • Caring for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly.
  • Advancing through learning modules every 3 months for 12 months as skills are acquired to perform the Clinical Assistant position (for Apprentice role).
  • Providing high-quality patient care within multiple healthcare facilities (for Clinic Care Technician role).
  • Being assigned to different units based on workload, patient acuity, and staffing needs (for Clinic Care Technician role).
