About The Position

Why M Physicians? The Primary Care Clinic is centrally located within the Clinics and Surgery Center building allowing patients to see their primary care provider in the same building they may see their specialty care providers. Our clinic sees a large volume of patients providing care to all- from the routine physicals to the medically complex acute care visits. Our clinic is closely tied with the University allowing us to have a blend of dedicated faculty physicians working alongside internal medicine residents. This creates a collaborative environment for staff growth and daily learning. As a member of the care team, the Lead Clinic Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The Clinic Assistant delivers care as delegated by the physicians/authorized practitioner, or registered nurse (RN) to assigned patient populations or individual patients. Delegates care may include (but is not limited to): medication administration, vaccine administration, injections, assisting with sterile procedures, collecting vital signs. Lead Clinic Assistant Overview Key responsibilities include but are not limited to : Serves as the “go to” person to assist with communication, coordinates and provides training, orientation, and department assimilation. Encourages and motivates team for immediate problem resolution, provides a consistent presence. Anticipates, identifies, and reports issues or concerns to the department supervisor. Monitors patient flow to ensure schedule is maintained or optimized, and staff resources are efficiently used. Fosters and promotes a collaborative and helpful team environment. Completes complex and/or high-level project work but is not a substitute for team member thinking and initiative.

Requirements

  • BLS Certification
  • Graduate of an EMT or M Health Fairview’s Clinical Assistant Program
