About The Position

UCI Health is a large academic health system in California, part of the University of California, Irvine. It includes multiple hospitals and a network of care centers. As Orange County's only academic health system, it features a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, a Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma center, and a recognized burn center. UCI Health serves a large population through patient care, research, and medical education. The incumbent is responsible for delivering social services, including psychosocial evaluation and treatment, advocacy, teaching, referrals to community services, and assisting with discharge planning. They will participate in case coverage and support for other social workers in the Department of Clinical Social Work / Care Coordination. Additionally, they will engage in teaching activities, including supervising social work graduate students and providing in-service education for various healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Skills to interpret and implement hospital, JCAHO, Health Department and Child Abuse Registry standards and regulations (for Clin Social Worker III)
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Knowledge of and ability to work within a complex health care system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Current Clinical Social Work License issued by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (for Clin Social Worker III)
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Master's Degree in Social Work (for Clinical Social Worker II)
  • Ability to interpret and implement all applicable standards and regulations such as, The Joint Commission, DHS, and the Child Abuse Registry (for Clinical Social Worker II)
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
