About The Position
The YMCA is seeking a passionate and youth-focused Climbing Wall Instructor to facilitate climbing wall programs. This role involves creating safe, rewarding experiences that promote a healthy spirit, mind, and body. The instructor will lead programs, encourage participant growth and confidence, and ensure a safe environment for all.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Willingness to attend meetings, training, and obtain additional certification as requested.
Nice To Haves
- Indoor climbing experience, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise climbing wall programs and activities.
- Ensure the safety of participants through proper use of equipment and adherence to established procedures.
- Provide instruction, encouragement, and support to climbers of varying skill levels.
- Monitor climbing areas and maintain a safe environment for participants and spectators.
- Assist with equipment inspections, setup, and general maintenance of the climbing area.
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and certifications as assigned.
