About The Position

Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist to join their team in San Diego, CA. This role involves trimming and removing trees, pruning limbs, and performing other tree care services to maintain the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas. The position offers an outdoor work environment with new views daily and opportunities for growth within an employee-owned company.

Requirements

Ability to climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.

Responsibilities

Trim and remove trees.
Remove unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs on trees.
Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
Remove hazardous trees.
Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
