Experienced Climbing Arborist
About The Position
Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist to join their team. This role involves trimming and removing trees, as well as pruning limbs to maintain tree health and safety. The arborist will operate as part of a crew, performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services, including pruning, thinning, removing deadwood, installing cables, bracing, lightning protection systems, and removing hazardous trees. The position requires proper maintenance, preparation, and operation of tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. Requirements
- Love of the outdoors
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
- Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
Nice To Haves
- Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
Responsibilities
- Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
- Operate as an active crew member supporting the ground crew and crew leader.
- Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
- Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
- Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
- Remove hazardous trees.
- Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
