Climbing Arborist
About The Position
Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas. This role involves operating as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader, performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. The job includes pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy, installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems, and removal of hazardous trees. You will also properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more. Your office is outdoors, and you get a new view every day!
Requirements
- Love of the outdoors
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
- Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
Nice To Haves
- Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
