Climbing Arborist Trainee
About The Position
This position involves learning to climb trees and perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. The role operates as a member of a tree crew, progressively learning new skills. The job duties include tree identification, pruning, thinning, removing deadwood, installing cables, bracing, lightning protection systems, assisting in the removal of hazardous trees, and properly maintaining and operating tools and equipment like chainsaws, aerial lifts, and chippers. Requirements
- Love of the outdoors
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
Nice To Haves
- Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
Responsibilities
