About The Position

Distinctive Tree Care LLC is seeking an experienced, safety-focused Climber to perform tree climbing, pruning, removals, and maintenance. The role involves using climbing techniques and specialized equipment, assessing tree health, and working with a crew and Foreman to complete jobs efficiently. The position requires physical endurance, attention to safety, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Requirements

Minimum 1–3 years of experience in tree climbing or professional arboriculture.
Strong climbing ability and knowledge of tree care techniques.
Familiarity with ANSI and OSHA safety standards for tree work.
Proficiency with chainsaws, rigging, and climbing gear.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions.
Valid license.
Ability to wear necessary PPE.
Ability to withstand exposure to various weather conditions while completing work assignments.
Proficiency in operating and servicing required tools and equipment.
Ability to lift, move, and maneuver 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds.
Ability to grip, climb, balance, pull, push, and climb on and off trucks.

Nice To Haves

ISA Certified Arborist or TCIA credentials.
CDL.

Responsibilities

Climb trees using proper techniques and equipment, including ropes, harnesses, and spikes, for pruning, removal, and maintenance.
Perform tree trimming, pruning, and removal according to industry best practices.
Safely operate chainsaws, rigging gear, aerial lifts, and other equipment.
Assess tree health and determine an appropriate approach to maintenance or removal.
Work with the crew and Foreman to ensure efficient job completion.
Follow safety protocols, including PPE use and OSHA regulations.
Assist with ground operations, cleanup, and debris removal as needed.
Communicate professionally with clients when required.
