About The Position

Davey Utility Line Clearance is hiring an experienced Line Clearance Climbing Trimmer to service the Greater Akron, Ohio region. This is a full-time, hourly, permanent, onsite role involving tree pruning and removal for major electric utility providers. The work is performed outdoors and includes climbing using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems. Travel expectations are up to 25%. Compensation is $23.52 per hour, with pay based on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

Love of the outdoors.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver's License, Class A or B, with Air Brake Endorsement.
Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
Prune treetops and repair damaged trees through trimming or removal.
Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
Apply tree-identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Work as an active crew member alongside the ground crew and foreperson.
