This role collaborates with the principal in overseeing the school’s climate plan to ensure an environment that is conducive to learning. Under the direction of the Principal and Assistant Principal, the Climate Manager works with staff to ensure that the social-emotional needs of students are met. The position involves coordinating climate, behavioral, and discipline programs, developing multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and promoting restorative practices. The Climate Manager also develops school-wide behavior intervention plans, analyzes student discipline data, and ensures compliance with the Student Code of Conduct. This role liaises with Climate and Culture Coaches, supervises climate staff, and supports school staff in managing challenging student behaviors. Additionally, the Climate Manager networks with external partners, assists with interagency collaborations, coordinates support for students transitioning back into school from disciplinary placements, and oversees day-to-day discipline matters. The role involves working closely with children with behavior challenges and their families, providing mentorship, and partnering with school leadership, counselors, and teachers to execute individualized behavior plans. The Climate Manager also facilitates professional development on climate-related topics.
