About The Position

The Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency’s (CASR) mission is to build a carbon pollution free, sustainable and resilient Denver for all. Guided by science and shaped by community input, CASR delivers bold solutions through policies, programs, and capital projects that reduce emissions, advance environmental justice, and strengthen climate resilience. Our portfolio includes beneficial electrification, energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy storage, climate adaptation, community resilience, nature-based solutions, natural resource conservation, embodied carbon, waste reduction and diversion, communications, community engagement, and workforce development—all with a strong focus on equity. As the Climate Action Data Analytics and Impact Lead, you will be a key leader in CASR’s Climate Action Division, reporting directly to the Deputy Director. You will supervise one associate data analyst in support of this work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or other related field.
  • Three (3) years of senior level data analytics experience.
  • Experience translating complex data into easily understandable visual representations
  • Strong data analytics experience with different platforms integrating different data sources
  • Solid knowledge of and experience in implementing data stewardship practices and processes
  • Experience building an architecture that integrates various pipelines and cloud environments
  • Supervisory experience in leading analysts to achieving organizational goals
  • Valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and creating interactive dashboards, charts, graphs, maps, and other visualizations using various tools and software to help stakeholders understand information and make informed decisions.
  • Establishing KPIs, other metrics and data analysis tools (i.e., dashboards) to continuously monitor program performance and provide decision makers the ability to report and evaluate across programs/projects/investments.
  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, business practices, and control mechanisms, to assure data integrity and access.
  • Connecting disparate data sources across multiple programs and projects to bring needed data into a common analytics platform and source of truth.
  • Aligning data management priorities with the CASR executive leadership team goals and priorities.
  • Leading an office-wide Data Cross-Functional Team that will engage program managers in a consistent data strategy and approach.
  • Managing a yearly budget and contractors to assist in developing data solutions.
  • Quickly receive, understand, and respond to requests for information.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.
