About The Position

Hansen Gress is seeking a Client Technology Advisor to serve as the strategic technology voice for their clients. This role involves building trusted, long-term relationships to drive client success and company growth. The position sits at the intersection of technology strategy and client relationship management, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned client portfolios. The advisor will deeply understand client businesses, translate their goals into technology roadmaps, and ensure delivered services create measurable value. This role collaborates with the Director of Customer Experience and service delivery teams to align client needs with provided services and champions the client's perspective internally.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in account management, client success, or technology advisory roles, ideally within an MSP or IT services environment.
  • Understanding of the full client lifecycle.
  • Ability to move fluidly between relationship conversations and technology strategy discussions.
  • Track record of building long-term client trust and translating that trust into measurable retention and growth.
  • Comfortable in a consultative sales role.
  • Ability to create urgency without pressure and turn trust into action.
  • Exceptional communicator who can simplify technical complexity for non-technical audiences and set clear expectations.
  • Ability to bring structure to client relationships, creating repeatable processes, communication rhythms, and documentation standards.
  • Hands-on approach when needed to support clients and team members.
  • Detail-oriented and financially fluent, comfortable working across client invoices, rates, seat counts, and service efficiencies.
  • Must be based in Alaska.
  • Ability to pass a basic background check for airport security badging.
  • Valid driver’s license (or willingness to get one) and the ability to drive.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships as the primary “face of the MSP” for assigned portfolios.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with client leadership, understanding their business goals, challenges, and technology vision.
  • Maintain regular, clear, and proactive communication with clients and internal staff.
  • Establish and lead consistent communication rhythms, including QBRs and strategic planning conversations.
  • Serve as the fractional CIO for client organizations, translating business goals into technology strategies and roadmaps.
  • Provide guidance on technology investments, vendor decisions, cybersecurity posture, and IT governance.
  • Help clients understand risk exposure and make informed technology decisions.
  • Act as the bridge between client leadership and technical teams, translating complexity into clarity.
  • Own and improve a documented account management process for the portfolio.
  • Drive client retention, satisfaction, and growth through proactive relationship stewardship.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data for renewals, right-sizing, and project opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue expansion opportunities where additional services deliver client value.
  • Serve as an escalation point for client concerns, resolving issues with urgency and professionalism.
  • Provide guidance on technology budgeting, cost optimization, and contract considerations.
  • Maintain awareness of revenue health across the portfolio and flag risks.
  • Partner with internal leadership on pricing, contract renewals, and account-level financial decisions.
  • Demonstrate ownership, teamwork, clear communication, and professionalism.
  • Partner with the Director of Service Delivery and technical teams to align client expectations with operational execution.
  • Contribute to internal process improvement by sharing client feedback and identifying patterns.
  • Document client environments, preferences, and relationship history.
